Pricing Details for Our Services
Telephone and Video Consultations
You can choose whether to have a consultation by phone or video. Both services cost the same. Each consultation is either for 15 or 30 minutes, depending on your preference. A video consult is obviously better if you would like Dr Mickel to see you or anything related to your health problem. However, a telephone consultation is perfectly adequate in most instances. The cost is £35 for a 15 minute consultation and £70 for half an hour. You will simply be sent a link at your appointment time which will open up the video consultation. If there are any problems doing this then Dr Mickel will call the number that you used to register. The fee is paid at booking.
Private and NHS Referrals
Following your consultation it may be agreed that a referral to a specialist is needed. Dr Mickel can either make a referral to an NHS specialty or if you prefer to a Private one. Waiting times for each specialty are obviously different. The cost of a referral is £20 and can be requested in your booking area in the same way as making an appointment.
Private Prescriptions
Dr Mickel can prescribe medication following your consultation. This private prescription costs £20. It can be sent to your postal address or e-mailed to your local pharmacy. You can then discuss the medication and dispensing fee with your pharmacist. If you would prefer then Dr Mickel can communicate with your NHS General Practitioner and ask if they would agree to do a prescription on the NHS. This would be at their discretion.
Registration is free
If you think that you may be interested in becoming a private patient with Dr Mickel then you can register here. This will give you access to the service when you need it. This is similar to joining an NHS Practice and you will be on Dr Mickel’s Private Health list. You should remain registered with an NHS General Practitioner as well.
**Private Health Insurance may be an option that you wish to consider. More and more companies are willing to cover the costs of Primary Care treatment, including General Practice. If you already have Health Insurance then you may want to discuss this with your provider.**
